Our story

From two-way radios in the seventies to gigabit fibre today, we've grown with Mackay's businesses for over fifty years.

  1. 1970s

Foundation as a radio communications workshop

Two-way radios for Mackay's industries. Started servicing two-way radios for Mackay's marine operators, sugar farms, mining contractors and rural businesses. Repair, installation and maintenance from our Peel Street workshop.

  2. Late 1970s and 1980s

    Move into telephony

PBX systems across the CBD. As Mackay's CBD and industrial estates grew, we expanded from radios into business phone systems. Early PBX installations across local offices, professional services and retail.

  3. 1990s

    Data cabling and structured wiring

First fibre in the region. Computing arrived in Mackay offices. We rolled out Cat3 then Cat5 structured cabling across commercial precincts, and ran the first fibre links at major industrial sites in the region.

  4. 2000s

    Business broadband and VoIP

From PBX to packet-switched. ADSL and SHDSL business connections, early VoIP deployments replacing legacy PBX, ongoing radio comms for mining, marine and rural clients across the Bowen Basin and Whitsundays.

  5. 2010s

    NBN, fibre and cloud PBX

Enterprise connectivity arrives. NBN Business and Enterprise Ethernet rollouts across Mackay, the Whitsundays and Bowen Basin. Cloud PBX migrations, structured fibre in new commercial developments, SD-WAN for multi-site clients.

  6. 2020s

    Unified communications, today

Phones, cabling and internet, one local team. Cat6A structured cabling, fibre backbones and comms room fit-outs. Structured data cabling and fibre for businesses across Mackay, the Whitsundays and the Bowen Basin. ACMA Cabling Open registered, $20M public liability.
